Embracing Scott's wish to promote
basketball pathways and uplift communities. 

​The intention of S.WISH  is to empower NSW rural and regional junior basketball players and coaches through scholarships, resources, and learning opportunities. S.WISH is dedicated to fostering sustainability, inclusion, connection, fun, and integrity within basketball communities. It strives to create a lasting positive impact on individuals and communities through the shared love of the game. While our goals will not change, our methods and support offered may  alter to meet the needs of who we are trying to help.

Key actions:

• S.WISH will award criteria based coach scholarships to cover coaching courses, travel, and mentorship for aspiring coaches from NSW rural and regional areas.

• S.WISH will award criteria based junior player scholarships to  support players from NSW rural and regional areas to attend basketball training camps, clinics, and championships.

• S.WISH will embrace the joy of basketball and emphasise social connection through sport.

• S.WISH will promote and provide coach education.

The primary fundraiser for S.WISH will embrace what basketball meant to Scott. Serious on the court and learning and laughs off the court. S.WISH and Basketball NSW, will host a social carnival over the Easter weekend each year. There will be male and female divisions in U18s, Opens and Masters. The carnival will be held at various venues around the state for 5 years. It will begin in Moss Vale in 2025 and land in Shoalhaven in 2029. It is hoped that the carnival will move around the state just as Scott did, spreading the love of basketball as it goes.
